Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrics

Dr. Melissa Thingvoll provides Developmental and Behavioral Pediatric consultation and evaluation in Asheville NC and the surrounding Western North Carolina area.  Her practice focuses on the comprehensive evaluation and treatment of attention problems/ADHD, learning difficulties, and high functioning Autism Spectrum Disorders, as well as developmental delays and behavioral challenges in young children.

Dr. Thingvoll is currently accepting new patients. Dr. Thingvoll accepts the following insurances: NC Medicaid Managed Care (Healthy Blue, AmeriHealth, WellCare, United) and Blue Cross Blue Shield. She does not accept commercial United Health Care plans. She does not participate in the NC Medicaid Tailored plans.

Dr. Thingvoll received her MD from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2002 and completed her pediatric residency at the same institution in 2005. She went on to complete a fellowship in Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2008, training under some of the world’s premier autism researchers.  She is board certified in Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics.

Dr. Thingvoll moved to Asheville in 2008 with her husband and twin children.  She has been providing developmental and behavioral pediatric care to the children of Western North Carolina since that time.  In her free time, Dr. Thingvoll enjoys running, hiking and spending time with her family.
